4 Tips To Help Your Skin Better Absorb Face Oil For Glowy, Hydrated Skin

Face oil has emerged as the new trendsetters of the skincare world. They ended the era of powdery matt foundation look and introduced the beautiful, glowing, and dewy makeup. But to give a beautiful face oil finish to your makeup you need to get maximum product absorbed into your skin. But how do we do it? Let’s find out!

Tip #1: Picking the right oil

There is a wide variety of face oils available. And finding the right match for your skin is a task. Different oils are available for every skin type. But if a person with dry skin chooses the oil for oily skin or vice versa, then it’s going to be a disaster. Your skin needs what it needs. You can just randomly choose a face oil and wait for the magic to happen. Making the right choice is extremely crucial. If you have sensitive skin then fragrance oil and certain essential oils are not for you.

Pro-tip: Argan oil, Jojoba Oil, and Sea Buckthorn oil are the best face oils for all skin types.

The composition and fatty acids also determine the absorption level of any face oil. The oils rich in Linoleic acid are easier to absorb. These oils are thinner and absorb real quick. Linoleic acid cannot be produced by our body so taking it from an external source like face oil adds to the health of your skin. If you are looking for face oils high in linoleic acid then go for rosehip, and grapeseed, these oils are also non comedogenic oils.

While the face oils rich in oleic acid take longer to absorb. Oleic acid has a very thick and sticky consistency which makes it difficult to get absorbed.

Tip #2: Exfoliate!

Understanding your skin is very important. The top layers of your skin have dead cells while the deeper layers are alive and working. Any skin care product needs to get absorbed in the alive skin cells. For that, it has to cross the dead skin cell’s layers, which is not very easy. As you age, the top skin layers take longer to shed, which will make it difficult for any skincare product to reach the deeper layers.

The solution to this problem is exfoliation. Beginning your skincare routine with exfoliation will help remove the dead skin cells and make absorption easier and faster. Exfoliation is much more needed in winters than in summers.

Tip #3: Getting the most out of a face Oil

Just choosing the right face oil for your skin is not all to be done. Knowing how to apply the face oil is a major step as well.

The top layers of your skin naturally have oil content. Applying face oil on this layer of your skin can make things difficult if not applied in the right manner. The correct way is to have a small amount (3-5 drops) of face oil in your palm, rub it between your hands, and then pat it gently on your face. Patting is much better than rubbing the oil on your face. For adding a relaxing touch to it you can also massage the face oil with a Gua Sha. This will smoothen and lift your skin in the most relaxing manner.

Tip #4: Common Mistake: more is better

As face oils are quite concentrated in composition, so a few drops can do the job for you. From three to a maximum of eight drops is enough for your face and neck. Always remember, less is more.
