White jade is a cooling stone that promotes peace and filters distractions.

Microcirculation on your skin is improved as you use the white jade Gua Sha Tool (held at an angle) to gently scrape your skin. You’ll notice more oxygenated blood which clears congestion, brightens your skin complexion and stimulates cell renewal is naturally brought to the dermal layer of your skin. Your skin will be a bit red after the session because of the rush of your blood to your skin, but there’s no need to worry as this helps with acne scars and tissue repair. We all know how important it is for toxins to be cleared out for the benefit of your skin’s health and the Gua Sha massage does this by draining lymphatic fluid that has built up over time.

We tend to carry pressure in our shoulders and what’s great about this massage is you can also do it for yourself to help release the tension on your shoulders. Because you’re in control, you can decide how much pressure you want for a deeper massage which will feel amazing!

The facial doesn’t take a long time, gentle scraping should be for about 5 minutes but it could last longer depending on what rhythm feels best for you, as long as you don’t scrape too hard because your facial skin is thin and you wouldn't want to hurt yourself! You just need a gentle pressure as the lymphatic vessels you are trying to get to is already close to your skin’s surface. Scraping action should be up and outwards towards the edges of your face, it’s really so relaxing and easy to do, you’ll love it!

It’s important to use a facial oil so the Gua Sha Tool doesn't drag but rather it glides over your skin. An oil that works well with this facial tool is our REVITALISÉ Organic Face Oil, you really should try it out, you’ll be glad you did.

How To Gua Sha

  1. Start with a cleansed face and prep your skin with 5-10 drops of REVITALISÉ Organic Face Oil.
  2. Hold the gua sha at a 15-45 degree angle and scrape toward the edges of your face.
  3. Repeat each stroke 5-10 times and enjoy this relaxing ritual 3-5 times a week. (And if you want to know more about gua sha before and after, check out here.)

Here’s what the measurements of the Gua Sha tool are, approximately 5cm x 8cm and because of the varying forms of natural jade, no two jade Gua Sha will look the same down to colors, markings, and shaping.

Taking good care of your jade Gua Sha is important because it is possible for it to break if it falls or isn’t handled well. This isn’t very likely to happen as jade is quite solid but nonetheless, you should do your best to keep it safe so it lasts long and serves you well.
